Travel Tuesday question of the week – what’s your favorite country?
Throughout my many years of traveling, it was a long time before I ever left the continent. I traveled a lot in the US and spent some time in Canada. There is something comforting and appealing to seeing sights in your own country and all the many things it has to offer. However, if you were to pick your favorite country (outside of your own), what would it be?
For me, this is a tough question. I have mentioned many times before that my first international trip was to Estonia – my first two actually. So that will always be a special place for me. Not only was it my first trip, the people and the culture made a huge impact on me. I fell in love with that more than I did the sights. My memories of that trip will live forever and have transformed my life. A passion to travel and experience other parts of the world was born when I stepped off of the plane in Tallinn.
However, choosing Estonia would contradict my post My favorite European country is…Portugal? So let’s just call it a tie.
What is your favorite country? Why? Share your response here or share on Twitter with the #TT or #traveltuesday hash tags!
Europe — Italy
Asia (where I spend most of my time)…….Thailand.
Hard to choose! Each country I’ve been to is special in its own way. I’m inclined to say Italy but that’s so not original I guess I’ll go with Tanzania since it’s so unlike anywhere else I’ve been.
OK I’m over a week late on this, but want to add my two cents. I have many favorites, but Brazil is among my top countries. It’s fascinating… and the beaches are amazing!
