Backpackers seeing the world at eighteen a couple of decades ago would definitely envy backpackers of today. In so many ways, budget travel has become much easier to do now than it used to be.

For a start you can get cheap flights with companies like jet2.com to so many interesting destinations. It used to be that you’d have to go travelling for a long period of time to justify the costs of your travel to get there. But now it’s so easy to pop over to any city in Europe – all you need is a daypack with a couple of changes of clothes and you can go and visit a new country over a weekend, without feeling like you’re breaking the bank in doing so.

It’s also now possible to go travelling without giving up work. You can work as you go as long as you have your laptop with you, and a flexible boss. Of course, it’s not suitable for every profession, but if you’re a writer or researcher, there generally aren’t many restrictions especially if you work for yourself. There’s internet access in every destination, whether you take a dongle with you, or go to different internet cafés and hotspots along the way, so if you have a day job that can be done on the move, why not?

And then there’s the gear. With so many lightweight tent and sleeping bag options, backpacking doesn’t have to be a backbreaking exercise these days.

However, with all these advantages, there comes one aspect that’s not quite as good as in the old days. Part of the joy and excitement of backpacking was that getting away from it all feeling, that slight edginess of knowing that your family didn’t have a clue where you were until you checked in over a crackly telephone call that cost you £10 a minute and the only way of sending you stuff was via a poste restante.

Backpackers today must find it hard to escape the emails and text messages from home and probably never quite get that same sense of adventure as those backpackers had only a couple of decades ago. Still, we can’t escape progress!

Australia, and more specifically the Gold Coast, is accredited as the world’s popular surfing destination of choice. Its 37000 km sun-drenched coastline sports beaches, reefs and point breaks that pose a challenge to adept board-riders. However, there too are innumerable easy-rolling swells suitable for beginners. Besides, there are surf schools around these spots for interested learn-to surfers, that should take the least skilled of surfers and help them to differentiate between the benefits of alternative configurations of surfboard fins.

The Best Surf Spots in Gold Coast Australia – Snapper Rocks

Snapper Rocks, the world celebrated surfing spot on the Gold coast, is a sand bottom point break with immensely awesome conditions for board-riders. Snapper is located at Rainbow Bay and is home to the renowned ‘Super Bank’ which stands as the longest, most consistent and hollow wave in the whole wide world. If you’re lucky to land one good clean wave, it’s sure to carry you through two kilometers’ scintillating ride to Kirra. It’s in Snapper that you will find the best barrels on the Gold Coast. This explains while international surfing events like the Quicksilver and Roxy Pro are hosted here. This spot is best suitable when the swells are inclined towards the south-east.

The Best Surf Spots in Gold Coast Australia – Duranbah

Duranbah, also known as D-bah, is argued to be Australia’s most consistent break. It is found on the Queensland-NSW border at the foot of Point Danger Headland. The long rides and throaty barrels enable board-riders to access the lefthanders off the headland. The mouth of the Tweed River protects it on the southern side giving surfers great right-handers in instances of a south-easterly swell. It is the most appropriate spot in north-east conditions because the headland protects the beach from north-east winds. It’s here that you will find Queensland’s top surfers honing their skills.

The Best Surf Spots in Gold Coast Australia – Kirra

Kirra, north of the Superbank, thou a previously great spot, is not the most favorable to surfers anymore, ironically as a result of the Superbank. Large sand deposits from Tweed River have stifled the famous break, making it break well only in huge south-easterly swells. Under the right conditions, surfers still adore it for its Kirra magic.

The Best Surf Spots in Gold Coast Australia – Burleigh

Burleigh is a very popular surfing beach on the Gold Coast. It is protected from the south-easterly winds by the Burleigh Headland. In instances of a south-easterly swell, this beach provides extremely good surfing conditions and gives surfers a chance to score a Burleigh barrel which undoubtedly, is quite thrilling.

The Best Surf Spots in Gold Coast Australia – South Stradbroke

South Stradbroke, also known as TOS (The Other Side) or Straddie is a man-made break which resulted from the Southport Seaway in the 1980s. It is located on the island’s southern tip, immediately after the seaway’s northern wall. You could catch a boat, ferry or jet ski to get there or make a 300m paddle. Apart from its location and accessibility, Straddie offers some of the most awesome beachbreaks in Australia. Under the right conditions, preferably in north-westerly winds, it sports deep and powerful barrels which give surfers an unforgettable experience.

The Best Surf Spots in Gold Coast Australia – Noosa

Noosa, the photogenic long-board break is where all roads lead to when the swell is relaxing out. The swells advance and wrap around the Noosa Headland, resulting in elongated walls of water that break into the bay. When the conditions are right, this break can produce a good 200 meter ride. However, since this is where everyone goes when everywhere else is closing out, it can be really crowded. It is suitable for beginners on smaller days.

With a holiday of any kind, saving money is an important consideration. Finances on both a personal and global scale are continuing to be strained and that means there is less dispensable income in circulation. Whilst austerity measures usually involve the act of cutting back, not all money saving techniques have to involve sacrifices. For those interested in taking a ski holiday, there are plenty of ways in which costs can be lowered.

Skiing On A Budget: Avoid larger resorts

Perhaps the first place to lower costs with a ski holiday is with the place you choose to visit. Larger resorts such as those in Austria and France are well known for their exceptional facilities but this strong reputation also comes with a high price tag.

Instead of opting for the obvious locations, why not shop around? There are plenty of smaller resorts which boast equally impressive services but at a fraction of the cost associated with larger resorts. These may be a little more restricted on activities but if all you’re after is a relaxing winter break then they will be more than adequate.

Skiing On A Budget: Hire equipment

One of the most expensive components of a ski break which is often overlooked is the cost involved with equipment hire. Buying ski equipment is not a suitable alternative unless you intend to take up the sport as a regular hobby so travellers should look for cheap deals instead.

Rather than assuming your resort offers the best price, shop around. You’ll find plenty of ski hire stores both at your destination and here in the UK which may be able to undercut resorts on price.

Skiing On A Budget: Travel together

Ski holidays can be enjoyed by any type of traveller but going as a group could amount to significant savings. Accommodation for ski holidays is usually provided as chalets or cabins – properties which are charged per unit per night, rather than per person per night. This means the price you pay will get progressively lower the more people you travel with.

Skiing On A Budget: Give yourself sufficient time

With traditional holidays, the amount of time you spend in your chosen destination can have a profound impact on the price. The same is true for ski holidays – but you need to strike a careful balance. Don’t take an excessively long trip which will cost a fortune but remember that if you haven’t skied before then you’ll need time to learn the sport and get used to the slopes.

On top of this, the time of year at which you travel will also affect the price of your holiday. Ski holidays are more dependent on seasons than other holidays as the time of year will affect the snow cover and therefore the suitability of the terrain for skiing.

Whilst traditional ski breaks are taken at the latter end of the year, those looking to save a few pennies may want to consider travelling around Easter. April is typically a cheap month for ski holidays with plenty of tour operators offering Easter ski deals at this time. The slopes will still be good enough for skiing and, alongside the financial benefits; you’re likely to encounter fewer crowds.

Skiing On A Budget: Practice before you go

Following on from the above, consider practicing the sport before you leave to ensure you’re able to take to the slopes almost immediately. There are a number of indoor ski slopes found in the UK and these are the perfect place to learn a few basic skills. Taking the time to get some practice in before your departure will prevent you from wasting time finding your feet.

When it comes to the perfect holiday, cruises are routinely considered to be the best option for those who are trying to relax, visit a number of different destinations at once and still avoid several trips to the airport or train station. Although there are countless advantages to taking a cruise holiday, there are also some drawbacks. The biggest for most individuals is simply the price. A cruise ship holiday may be affordable, but it is very easy to spend more than you expect while on board. To save money on your next cruise ship holiday, use these six helpful tips throughout your journey.

How to Save Money On Board Your Cruise Ship - Buy Drink Cards or Passes Upfront

One of the biggest expenses for travellers on a cruise ship is the cost of drinks. Although your meals might be part of the inclusive package, it is rare that sodas, wines or liquors are part of that deal. After several days at sea, the cost of even non-alcoholic drinks can add up in a hurry. Consider buying a drink pass, which gives you unlimited drinks during the cruise. If you travel with children who drink lots of juice or soda, you will find this to be a good investment.

How to Save Money On Board Your Cruise Ship - Stick to Included Restaurants and Menus

Although there are likely several restaurants and special menus included in your cruise package, most ships also offer specialty meals or upscale restaurants for an additional charge. It is usually best to save your money and stick with the free meal that has already been paid for.

How to Save Money On Board Your Cruise Ship - Avoid Duty Free Shopping Onboard

Duty free shopping can be tempting, but remember that any money saved on the taxes is usually made up by the cruise operator’s increased prices. Only buy items that you know are substantially cheaper than in your area, and remember that heavy items that weigh down your suitcase could result in extra luggage fees on the way home.

How to Save Money On Board Your Cruise Ship - Research Internet and Mobile Phone Costs In Advance

Using your mobile phone for just a few minutes each day can add up quickly, so be sure to turn the roaming off or contact your provider in advance to learn about the costs. Also keep in mind that any wireless internet you use onboard might have a cost.

How to Save Money On Board Your Cruise Ship - Enjoy Discounts on Port Days

Take advantage of some of the best specials and discounts for things like spa treatments, specialty restaurant meals and personal training sessions on port days. While everyone else heads to shore for a paid excursion, relax on the ship and have the place to yourself.

How to Save Money On Board Your Cruise Ship - Check Your Running Total at the Front Desk

There are a number of unexpected costs that can arise when you are on a cruise, whether it is a casual weekend getaway or a longer passage on one of the Queen Mary 2 cruises. The best way to deal with them is to ask for a running total of your bill every few days. This will allow you to catch any mistakes as early as possible, and you will have a better chance to adjust your budget for any unexpected costs along the way.

Flying around the world can be quite a great experience, and at the same time, a horrifying year-long debt repayment experience. What most people don’t know is that there are many all inclusive offers that can be received from airlines; taking advantage of these deals can make a huge difference in both your financial situation, and the comfort with which you can embark on your adventure.

Find Good Deals with Inclusive Offers - What does it mean?

All inclusive trips basically mean that everything is included in the trip. For example, there are several things that need to be paid for like the taxes, air tickets, hotel, and every other aspect when arriving at youir desired resort. However, when everything is already in the all inclusive trip, you will find that everything is a part of the trip, including the taxes and every little aspect. Everything is paid for just once in the same package. This alone can be a great money saver in the long run since there is very little money to be spent on other otuside costs. Everything is going to be paid for in that trip, and this can be helpful to save money in the end. This is truly one of the best parts of an all inclusive trip, especially if you are always on a budget.

Basically, next time you want to purchase a ticket for a trip to Punta Cana, look for the words “Punta Cana all inclusive” before you purchase a thing. Want to go to Cancun? Then let “Cancun all inclusive” lead the way.

Find Good Deals with Inclusive Offers – The benefits

Many people personally love the benefits involved with the all inclusive trip since everything is all in one. This alone can save you from a lot of wasted time in the end if you just aren’t interested in spending countless cash for a trip that doesn’t even include other benefits and other things. For example, you will find that an inclusive trip means getting to do everything with ease.

Saves Money

Saving money is definitely the benefit here. Many people love it when they travel and are able to save a heap amount of cash in the end whenever they fly across Air Canada.

You know what you are getting

With this type of trip, at least you know exactly what you are getting. The simple truth is that there are many people who go on trips and they usually end up not even knowing what they are getting from the trip, or they end up confused on what they can really see based on their budget. Since everything is paid for, you won’t end up wasting your time not understanding what you will be receiving and not be able to do during the trip. Just fly and enjoy everything.

Receiving an all inclusive trip can be quite a huge benefit. Air Canada offers a wide range of great services and all inclusive trips for their customers. They always want to provide customers with the help that they need. You can rely on Air Canada to always offer great discounts and all inclusive trips.
