Going on holiday can be very expensive. Visiting all of the locations and seeing all the sights that you desire can often come at a high price. However, if you set a budget for your holiday, you will be surprised as to how much you can see and do. For example, it is very possible to see the UK’s coast on a budget, and have a lot of fun doing so. If you are interested in exploring the UK’s coast on a budget, keep reading!

Exploring the UK’s Coasts on a Budget – Lulworth Cove

To begin, we will take a look at a great place to visit on England’s southern coast. This place is Lulworth Cove. This cave is a completely natural formation, and has tons to do around it. There are beaches, and the small town to explore. Lulworth Cove is not a huge tourist attraction, so prices will not be as high as some of the more commercial areas in England. Visiting Lulworth Cave will be a very peaceful and relaxing trip. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Lulworth Cove is a great place to go on a small family trip or a romantic getaway. In terms of accommodation, consider staying at one of Lulworth Cove’s budget Caravan Parks.

Exploring the UK’s Coasts on a Budget – Cromer

If you find yourself on the eastern coast of England, there is another great place to visit: Cromer. Cromer is a small coastal town, that has a very quaint feel to it. With a lot of the area’s tourism heading over to Greater Yarmouth, Cromer is a much calmer and quieter town. This does not mean Cromer is boring. Cromer has many tourist attractions, and a lot to see downtown. But like Lulworth Cove, the prices are much lower than a tourist town. If you are looking for an inexpensive holiday spot on the eastern coast of England, Cromer is the perfect place to visit.

Exploring the UK’s Coasts on a Budget – Fishguard

If you find yourself in Wales, on the western coast of the UK, there is a perfect place to visit: the town of Fishguard. Like the name suggests, this town is a small fishing town. However, the coastal views here are unlike anywhere else on the coast. The sights are beautiful, and it’s a great destination for a small getaway. This town isn’t a huge tourist town, so the costs there will be akin to those in your own town. This makes Fishguard the cheapest place to visit on this list.Whether you are on the western coast, the eastern coast or the southern coast; there is always a place to visit for relatively low cost.

From Lulworth Cove, to Cromer to the quiet town of Fishguard, each of the places have their own distinct advantages to larger tourist towns. The one thing they all share in common, is their price. They are great to visit on a budget, and will ensure that going on holiday does not break the bank. So remember, you do not have to go to a populated tourist town to have a great holiday, sometimes the smaller quieter villages are better destinations.

Vacations are not cheap, and in today’s economy, it is very difficult to spare money to go on an expensive trip. Often, vacations will fall by the wayside for impulse purchases or saving. The first spot on this list is a quaint town located on eastern coast of England. This town is very small and quaint, and is not a huge tourist town. With most of the nearby tourism diverted to the town of Greater Yarmouth, the atmosphere in Cromer is much lighter and relaxing. There is still a lot to do in Cromer. From attractions to shopping, to just plain old sightseeing. Cromer is a great place to visit. The best part: it’s price; because it is not a big tourist town, the prices of rooms and attractions aren’t that high.

Top Seaside Towns to Visit in the UK for Cheap - Lulworth Cove

Number two on this list is held by Lulworth Cove, located on the southern coast of England. This quaint town is absolutely breathtaking. Much like Cromer, it is very relaxing and tranquil. Lulworth Cove is more about sight-seeing than about attractions, but the sights you’ll see are well worth it. The cove itself is completely natural, and is just a marvel of nature. Lulworth Cove is the best spot to go if you’re looking to disconnect from the world and have a completely relaxing experience. Visiting Lulworth Cove is a completely unique experience that everybody should have during their lifetime.

Top Seaside Towns to Visit in the UK for Cheap - Fishguard Village

The final spot on this list belongs to Fishguard Village, located on the UK’s western coast in the country of Wales. Fishguard village may be a small fishing village but there is plenty to do to spent your days. The surrounding landscape is like no other, and you can easily make your entire trip about taking in the sights. The fields, the islands and the hills are all beautiful and make for great photo ops. The fields, the islands and the hills are all beautiful and make for great photo ops. This town is just a small fishing village, so the prices of lodging and dining will be quite low. If you’re looking to visit Wales, Fishguard village is the best place to stay.

It is so important to save money in today’s economy. With the economy bouncing around, investing too much in a vacation may leave you broke until your next paycheck. Prevent all of that stress by simply taking a cheap vacation. The economy has affected everyone, so there are many places that you can visit for cheap. Cromer, Lulworth Cove and Fishguard Village are all prime examples of visiting UK’s coast without the pressure in your expenses.

Pubs are a definite must for anyone who plans on visiting the United Kingdom and enjoys good food, a swift half pint and a great atmosphere. And what better way to build up an appetite than enjoying a scenic hike between each one? It’s a fantastic way to enjoy beautiful scenery and save yourself money as you won’t be spending out on transport!

In London, there are a huge number of pubs some that are within walking distance of Heathrow airport parking, so it’s an idea to leave your car an extra couple of days in such a safe and secure location. Great pubs however are not restricted to London, they are all over. Here is a list of some of the best pubs across the United Kingdom that any backpacker should visit while there.

The Windmill is a cool little pub in Bristol that is a sister pub to The Pipe and Slippers and The Lazy Dog. All three are really cool spots to sit and have a pint while enjoying the local favorites. The Duke of Portland in Lach Dennis is a great village pub that has been nominated for a lot of awards. It’s also renowned for using the freshest local ingredients in all the foods on its menu, so you can be sure to sample some great local flavours. The Hole in the Wall is a great pub in a small village called Little Wilbraham. It’s a quintessential old British pub that serves local favorites and some rather strong beer! Clear your head with a wander around the village itself: it’s definitely worth a visit.

For travellers heading towards the metropolitan city of Manchester, who are looking to get away from the industrial hustle and bustle, dive into a local pub there for a whole different atmosphere. The Old Nag’s Head in Manchester is an awesome spot for those who love live music. It’s conveniently located near Manchester airport parking, and is set back on Jackson’s Row and Lloyd Street. Beware though, this one can be a little hard to find!

Or take a look at the antiquated gems of good old London town! De Hems Dutch Bar is a Dutch pub located in the centre of London in Chinatown. It’s a funky little spot that is unique to the area. If you’re a bit of a wine buff, you’d soon be sorry you missed out on the almost never-ending wine list at Gordon’s Wine Bar. And while you enjoy the various varieties of grapey delights, you’ll sit in awe of the incredible surrounds here. After teetering down the steep, narrow staircase, you’ll find yourself in the cavernous depths of this underground wine bar. Candlelit alcoves etched into the ground throw you into an exciting world of historical memorabilia.

The Princess Louise is a restored Victorian style pub located in London not far from Stansted airport parking that is listed by many as one of the top five pubs in London. It’s ornate and sumptuous interior is just one of the many reasons to visit. Last, but by no means least, The White Hart in Waterloo has one of the coolest atmospheres in the city. It’s a small pub that is hidden back in the backstreets of Waterloo and is a great place to go to get away from the over visited clubs in the city to relax and enjoy a great beer.

So the next time you fancy stretching your legs a little, try visiting some of these refreshing spots! A great choice for anyone travelling on a shoestring but hungry for true, local culture.

Why Booking Cruises Around the UK May be Cheaper and More Fun Than the Countries Themselves http://budgettravelintentions.net/why-booking-cruises-around-the-uk-may-be-cheaper-and-more-fun-than-the-countries-themselves/ http://budgettravelintentions.net/why-booking-cruises-around-the-uk-may-be-cheaper-and-more-fun-than-the-countries-themselves/#comments Sat, 15 Sep 2012 13:35:00 +0000 http://budgettravelintentions.net/?p=373 It may actually be a better idea to get a cruise around the United Kingdom than it would be to spend time in a traditional city around the UK. It may actually be a better idea to get a cruise around the United Kingdom than it would be to spend time in a traditional city around the UK. This is thanks to not only the deals that come with cruises but also from what people can expect to enjoy on one of these cruises.

The prices that come with cruises around the UK should definitely be considered. There is no denying that there are plenty of hotels to choose from around the UK. However, the prices for some – if not most – hotels might be too expensive for people to handle. This is especially since there are not too many hotels around the UK that don’t have three or four star ratings.

Booking Cruises Around the UK – It’s Cheaper

For instance, a three-star hotel in Edinburgh could cost close to £100 a night. This doesn’t even include the expenses that come with dining, transportation, attractions and other services that one might experience during a trip in Edinburgh. It would be worse in a large city like London. It can be a challenge to find a hotel that is available for less than £180 per night in London.

A cruise around the UK may be cheaper in the long run. It can cost at least £800 per person for a cruise around the UK. However, this value will include all of the attractions and most of the dining options that a person can experience in a cruise. This is also the cost for the entire cruise. The fact that many cruises can last seven to fourteen nights on average means that the cost per day for a cruise could prove to be cheaper than the cost per day of a traditional holiday in the country. And, just like airlines, you accumulate Cruise miles based on your cruise booking; with enough miles to your name, you can select from a wealth of upgrades and opportunities on your journey.

Booking Cruises Around the UK – It’s A Sight for Sore Eyes

There’s also the matter in how some cruises stop in more of the most unique spots that the UK has to offer. For example, a ten night cruise can involve stops in Dover, Rosyth, Lerwick and Falmouth. That same cruise may also include tours of places like Guernsey Island, the area of Invergorden (where the Loch Ness Monster is rumoured to be in), or the Dunrobin Castle.

Many of these trips can even include stops in Ireland. This is useful because of the proximity of Ireland to the UK and the ease of access to Dublin.

The things that are offered on a cruise ship can also add to the excitement. A cruise ship will have more things to do throughout the entire trip than what some entire towns in the UK might offer. A cruise ship can include several dining and entertainment spots as well as a few recreational spots such as, at the very least, a swimmingg pool.

It’s a great idea for anyone to consider booking a cruise around the UK. It can bring people to more spots around the UK and can even include spots in Ireland in some cases. There can also be the additional features that come with a boat. The value of this kind of trip might prove to be better than actually going inside the United Kingdom for a trip thanks to the many things that are included in a boat trip.

The UK by train

There’s not much better than taking the slow, meandering route on a chugging train through ever-changing scenery and weathers, people and accents. But where better to indulge in the great romance of train travel than it’s country of birth? The UK is full of stunning rail-routes and faraway, fairytale destinations reserved only for the slow-traveller or the budget backpacker. However, the most epic and culturally juxtaposed journey of them all takes you from one end of the line to (almost) the other, from one world to the next. So what are you waiting for? Grab yourself a train ticket, get out there and see the UK like you’ve never seen it before.

Penzance to Edinburgh, UK

This 10 hour journey from one end of the UK to the other is one not to be missed. Start your day bright and early (the first train leaves Penzance at 05:05) and be in Edinburgh in time for a late lunch. If you need accommodation in Penzance the day before the trip, you can find great hotel deals on Expedia. If you’re heading off in summer, you’ll be lucky enough to catch sunrise over the famous St Michael’s Mount as you slowly trundle next to the sea and into Cornish mining and UNESCO country.

Once you’ve left the small communities and fishing villages of Cornish life, the speed picks up a bit as you whizz through Devon, clinging to cliffs and hovering over beaches, through holes in the rocks and over suspension bridges. If you want the best seat in the house, make sure you’re on the right hand side of the train well before reaching the Dawlish sea wall – a four mile stretch of coastal train-tracks that kiss the Channel and tease the lapping waves. Spot fisherman doing what they do best on tranquil waters and locals clambering to hidden sands. Yes, this is Devon, not the Adriatic.

Your journey now shifts from rural tranquillity to a whirlwind of industrial and working Britain. You’ll pass through Bristol and its vibrant shopping and student scene and start swiftly moving north to Birmingham and onwards. Accents change from West Country to Black Country, from Yorkshire to Geordie.

Keep your eyes out for the smoking towers that dot the Midlands and Sheffield’s forgotten graveyards of the industrial revolution. As you head further north, you’ll get an eyeful of Durham’s impressive cathedral before shooting over the Tyne into Newcastle and onto yet another dramatic coastline.

Here you’ll pass over the crashing waves and moody grey of the North Sea and pass by the historic and spiritual Holy Island. Now’s the time you’ll want to finish off that last paper-wrapped coffee, pack your book back in your bag and get ready to wander down Edinburgh’s brooding cobbled streets. What a treat you’re in for!
